Week of January 18-22, 2021

 Hello students,

I hope you are enjoying our mild winter. Other parts of Canada have had much colder temperatures and much more snow since last year. We are lucky to have this kind of weather AND live in Canada.

We had a week of exploration of New Year resolutions. Thank you for the responses, written and spoken! I hope you also had a chance to run through the grammar review exercises on the future tense (be going to) and the present perfect (have + past participle).

This week you can run some skill-using exercises to prepare for our first set of assessments.

Week of January 11-15, 2021

Hello students,

Thank you for filling out the Needs Assessment and Goal Setting survey. It provided me with ideas about what you wish to learn about this three-month session.

Our topic for the first month of school is actually the New Year. I thought it would be a good idea for you as students to work on something that, although it may seem to be going fast for some, you can all reflect on the previous year and also work on working towards achieving your own personal goals for the new year. This will hopefully help you find focus and motivation for your studies.

Please begin by watching the introductory video for this unit.

Open this file:
New Vocabulary + Questions (Questions about breaking bad habits)

R&W Students: Write answers to the questions on a page, take a picture, and e-mail them to your teacher.
L&S Students: Record a voice message with answers to the questions and e-mail it to your teacher.

Go through these Review & Exercise Pages (DO NOT SEND ANSWERS TO YOUR TEACHER FOR THESE):
